What i need for my pc to receive Wi-Fi?

My pc has xp pro on it. It can connect to the internet via ethernet cable but not Wi-Fi. I want to use my iphone as the Wi-Fi hub using personal hotspots. What do i need to get to make the pc able to connect to my iphones personal hotspots via Wi-Fi?

Added (1). I know for a fact my iphone can be tethered to a pc to use as a Wi-Fi hub using its personal hotspots. I used to do it with my laptop before it broke. What i'm asking is what do i need to make a pc able to receive Wi-Fi, wether from a phone or router or what ever. I've just ordered a Wi-Fi adaptor off ebay that plugs into the usb port. Is that what's required to make my pc able to connect wirelessly?

A better solution for you is to buy a wireless device and install it on your PC. Generally, Wireless adapters are not included in PCs. They need to be added later. New PCs however comes with Wi-Fi adapter.

If you're computer is unable to receive wi-fi signals, then it will be unable to receive the signals coming from your phone. This is because using your phone as an internet port requires wi-fi for the phone as well as the computer.

Read the Owner's Manual that came with the phone to find out if your phone has a modem mode, or Google your make and model of phone with the word "tethering" or "modem" to see if other people have succeeded in getting it to work.

You may find that your pone is capable of it, but your telecoms provider blocks tethering. This is apparently very common in the USA.

Yes you need to buy Wi-Fi adapter and intall it to tpu PC.

Anyway you need a Wi-Fi adapter to receive Wi-Fi signal. If you don't have one inside your PC then you need to buy an external Wi-Fi adapter. There are many variety available in the market, choose carefully.
