What is a good iphone to get?

Iv never had one before but I want one, I'm just not sure which would be a good one to get. Baring in mind I can't afford to spend a stupid amount of money on one.

If you can't afford to buy a overpriced phone with slower hardware than android phones then I wouldn't suggest buying one. I'd suggest getting an android phone. Pick something from Samsung one of the S series. I use a Samsung Galaxy S2 and love it more than the iPhone i used to have. Get one used online and you'll get a better price.

If you must get a iPhone so you can be trendy and look like you have money to waste on the 'Apple' brand name then since your of meager funds get a used one online.

4S. It's about £25 a month. A 5 would be around £37. I have the 4S it's great!

Skip the Original iPhone, 3G and 3Gs. They have lower quality screens and leave you wanting a faster processor. Additionally, they don't upgrade to the latest iOS. The 4 is good but the improvements on the 4s makes it the sweet spot for price and performance.

The 4 and 4s can upgrade to iOS7. Hopefully you got the largest capacity you can afford (16 or 32 Gb). The OS takes up a huge amount of space on an 8 Gb version leaving you very little to use.

Note, the release of the 5s and 5c should reduce the price of the 5. You might be able to get a 5 for a similar price as the 4s. Which brings significant improvements on the camera and processor.

Check out the link I cited as a source. I didn't use that as my source. I just have tested nearly every one of the devices here at work (I work for a carrier in the US).
