What is the best Smart Watch for me?

I'm a runner and would love a watch that I don't need to bring my phone with me when I run. However I work in Surgical trauma so I need to get texts while I'm out running Incase I get called in. I like garmin a lot but do they have any similar to this? And yes I have an iPhone

Honestly having used a few myself you really just want a Apple watch. The other watches are built more for android and frankly don't work as seamlessly with iPhones. Garmins can really be more hit or miss and I don't think they can text without the phone around last time I checked.

If you want to maintain calling and texting away from your phone you will need to get an Apple watch with a cellular radio and add it to your cell phone plan (Usually between $5-$10 a month). Don't worry about getting the newest generation watch. Save some money and pick up last years model.

There's so many options now, it's hard to decide what to get. See the comments for a link to PC Mag's reviews of smartwatches and a table that lists a number of the top smart watches and their features (to give you some ideas). You might at least be able to narrow the field with that info.

I included another link to a site that listed some 'best smart watches' so you could read more reviews, esp if the apple watch, since you use an iphone.

I don't need to get texts (although my watch alerts me if my phone is in proximity) so that wasn't a feature I looked for. I purchased the Garmin Vivoactive HR and it suits my needs (so did finding it for $100 less than retail on walmart's website). I wanted something to track my time, distance, pace, and that I could set for intervals (run/walk) so I didn't have to wear my phone for distance and my gymboss (equivalent) for interval reminders.
