What is the best translator app for iPhone and or Android?

Today at the library, I noticed an ESL teacher and a Korean girl having a tutoring session. I myself have tutored a few Koreans ESL before so I have some experience in the subject, and I'm pretty good at it, so after their session was over, I introduced myself and offered to help her learn English. She accepted my offer and I made a new friend.

However I'm looking for a top notch translation app for when I can't speak to her and can only text her. All of my ESL Korean and Chinese friends all have translation apps, but I always forget to ask them which one they use. I can speak some Korean but I barely know any written Korean so therein lies my problem.

What are the BEST translator apps out there for iPhone and Android? I need apps that can translate sentences not just words.

Google translate

Be careful of google translate and other auto translators. They don't translate that well, they will give you an idea but they do not do exact translations. I use ihandy translator but it is not exact.

  • When Android user sends text to a mixed group of iPhone and Android users? A family member who is an Android user sent a text message to a large group of recipients, including me. The group has both Android users and iPhone users. I'm an iPhone user. Does this mean that I will receive everyone else s messages like an iMessage group, or will all messages go directly between the conversation starter and whoever is messaging him, without any of the other group members seeing what the other members said?
  • What is the best app for getting icloud email on an android phone? I had one once but I can't remember what it was called and it was really hard to connect. All kinds of weird codes and such. I'm looking for something a little easier.
  • What is a good iphone AND android app for FREE CALLS? I'd like an app that is both available on the App Store and on Google Play/Android Market that can give free calls to each other. I've tried Skype, and Textfree. It's nice I can call to a cellphone, but, the fact that I have to buy minutes isn't worth it. I still use it for general texting, though.
