What is the Correct Way to Charge an iPhone?

When charging an iphone (or can be any phone), is it true that plugging the smaller end to the device then plugging the power-end in the power source lengthens the life of the battery, whereas the other way around deteriorates the battery? Or it doesn't matter at all? They say it "surprises" the battery.

Please whatever your answer is, I hope you could provide supporting documents to your claim or maybe just a technical explanation.

Just to make my question more clear.
First, plug smaller end, then power source -- OK
First, plug power source, then smaller end -- NOT OK
OR
It doesn't matter?

It doesn't matter.

  • Who does my iPhone auto correct my words incorrectly? It changed chilly to chili. Maybe it is possessed by the holy ghost. Always heard he was a bad speller.
  • Which is correct, I'm charging my I phone now or my iPhone is charging? Hi, Native speakers of English. I would like to know which of the following is grammatically correct or is the way you usually say. My iPhone is charging now. or I'm charging my iPhone now.
  • My iPhone won't unlock despite correct password? I have an iPhone 4 and the password has been the same (4 numbers) for the past 8 months. I was able to unlock it fine around half an hour ago, but now it won't work. I'm sure that I typed in the same exact 4 numbers, yet it keeps saying it's wrong and locking me out. What do I do? It won't let me sync to iTunes because my phone is locked. Again, I'm 100% sure I have the right password.
  • Is this also a correct way to pronounce restaurant? So I was messing with my Siri on my iPhone. Trying out the different Accents. I believe it was the Australian or British one where she pronounce Restaurant like: - Restore- Ant (s) - Restore- Ent (s) It may have been a glitch back at apple but l love the way she said it. So I'm wondering if it can be pronounce that way.
