What kills the battery faster, using Kik or using the actual texting app?

I have an iPhone 4S and was just wondering which would be smarter to use.

Kik because kik requires internet and 3G (which drains battery faster), while the texting app only needs 3G

The in built messaging service uses the 3g only when it requires it, but the kik messenger app requires it constantly as it needs the internet and needs mobile data to be on. Also for every app that is open it requires the processor to do work, thus if Kik is constantly open ready to receive or send messages, that it is making the processor work thus making the battery use more of its juice.

  • Will the actual IOS 7 fix battery drain? I installed IOS 7 beta last week and have noticed my battery is draining in a faster pace. Will this be fixed when IOS 7 is released this fall? And will I be able to download the actual IOS 7 from my iphone in software update instead of going on my computer?
  • Why is texting slower than snap insta kik etc I've found time and time again when trying to text or send pictures sending it through text is significantly slower than almost every other messenger app. Facebook, insta, snap, kik all of them are leagues faster at sending pictures than the basic text feature on my iphone. Why is this? I don't keep old conversations long. Yet it takes almost 5 mins to send a pic of a screenshot on text and it takes 5 seconds on anything else.

  • Suspect spouse is using a Texting app to cheat I pay the bills and lately I've noticed that he has some incoming and outgoing texts with his own phone number. Why would he text himself, so I suspect he has some texting app. Wondering if anyone out there has an iphone with At&T, uses KIK, Whatsapp or any other kind of texting app, and if your online bill shows your own number as an incoming text.
