What made the iPhone so popoular in 2007 when it came out?

The phone was actually the first real smart phone. It required no computer savvy and was easy to use. When it came out, I was looking at every carrier, at their best phones. No one had a device that could store my address book, access the internet, act as an MP3 player, send text messages, had a note pad, read emails, watch movies and television, and make phone calls. Before the iPhone I had 3 devices for those purposes and was able to combine them all into one small, handheld device. It also had the first touch screen… No one else had one.

Ease of use, multiple purposes, and the first touch screen technology made the iPhone a must have.
