4S. The 5 is just an extra inch on the phone.
IPhone 4S is better. Honestly, there isn't much difference in the two, just a bigger screen on the 5.
Depends on what you mean by better. Google each one and read up on their processors, RAM, and memory. The iPhone 5 is obviously more powerful, no company is stupid enough to release a new phone that's exactly the same except slightly larger. They strive to be better.
Everyone is saying that the only difference between the 4S an the 5 is the larger screen. This is highly incorrect. Look at my chart below.
WHY THE IPHONE 5 IS BETTER:
-Longer battery life.
-Larger Screen (4S lovers think this is the only pro to the 5)
-The iPhone 5 comes in 16, 32, and 64 gigs, whilst the 4S only comes in a 16 gig.
-FaceTime camera has HD video, whilst the 4S only has VGA resolution.
-1136-by-640 resolution
-Better earphones which are designed to fit in the human ear better.
-Lighter
WHY THE IPHONE 4S IS BETTER:
-Cheaper

The iPhone 5 is better in every way compared to the 4S.
It has superior:
Processing power- the A6 processor vs the A5
RAM- twice the amount (512mb vs 1024mb)
Visuals- 1136x640 resolution vs 960x640
Cellular service- the 5 has 4G LTE, the 4S does not (Do not be fooled by people saying the 4S on AT&T has 4G. That is HSPA+ and is just dual band 3G.)
Durability- the back is made of metal instead of glass so only one side is shatter prone
Cameras- the back camera has a few touch ups, but the front camera moves up from simple VGA quality to 1.2 megapixels.
I'm honestly shocked that people actually think the only difference is the screen size.
The 5 is superior in every way except…
Price.
If you have the extra money, go for the 5, but if you want to save a little money, get the 4S.

5 is better. It does everything the 4s does and MORE.
