What's your all time favorite Christmas gift?
As much as I love the iPhone I got back in 2010, it's second to the Nintendo Entertainment System I got back in 1986. My parents were going through some tough times back then. I was 5 years old and my belief in Santa Claus was waning. I was so jealous of all the other kids in my kindergarten class who were talking about how awesome Nintendo was, and bringing their games in for show and tell. Meanwhile, I was stuck playing my old Atari 2600 that I'd gotten for my 2nd birthday. I reluctantly sat on Santa's lap that year, and told him how good I'd been, and how much I deserved a Nintendo. Then I told him that if he was indeed real, why couldn't he bring me one? My parents were heartbroken, and come Christmas morning, by golly that NES was under the tree! I found out several years later that my dad sold his college ring to get it for me. I finally returned the favor a few years back by having a new one made for him. That's his all-time favorite Christmas gift.
Giving.
I'm a few years younger than you, and mine is the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
PS… That is a wonderful Christmas story you have. It brought tears to my eyes.
None in particular… I love Xmas for the atmosphere, the lights, the decorations, the fact that the whole family come together… Gitfs don't matter to me.
Too many to recall. But one was an open heart necklace I got two years ago from my husband and this past year some *** broke in n took all my jewelry. Plus Xbox 360.So I'm hoping my husband got me another.
Hmm… Tough one. Early 80s, I got my first computer - the ZX81.It has 16K memory built in, and to save programs, you had to use a tape recorder. It plugged into an old black and white TV screen we dug out of the basement. I played with that forever.
That, folks, is old school.
Hi, I don't really have an answer to your question because I always seemed to get everything that I wanted when I was a kid.
Now that I'm older… I don't ask for anything and I just gratefully accept whatever I get.
However, I just loved your story and that's my main reason that I'm writing this. Your story really touched my heart and brought a tear to my eye. Thank you for sharing this story. May you and your family, have a Very Merry Holiday Season this year!
Such a heart warming story. Thanks for sharing. I guess I have had it pretty blessed, rough times but we always made it Thur. One year was pretty bad, my children Only got 2 45's each(RECORDS), socks, undies and candy. We really wanted a VCR. We were without a paycheck she worked fast food but wasn't expecting to get paid until after Christmas. Miracles do happen she got a bonus of $25 dollars. And went and rented the VCR and two movies. One was Flight of the Navigator and NO Deposit, No Return. We thought we were wealthy. We watched those movies over and over until we had to take it all back. We were all living in our travel trailer. That year we lost everything except our old truck. Home, car job. The tt was paid for. My daughter was 14 at the time late 80'sNow I try to pay it all forward because basically what we had was love and not much else, but we're still a close family today and many Christmases later I think that was the best.
- Which is a better Christmas gift? I'm thinking of getting my mom the iPod touch 5th generation or a iPhone 5s. She currently has the iPhone 5 and the iPod touch 4g. I'm only 15 but I do have the money for either. I was thinking of getting her the iPod touch for Christmas then the iPhone 5s for her birthday (May). What do you think?
- What's your favorite part about your jailbroken iPhone? I just jailbroke my iPhone and i know you can get almost every app for free but what your favorite or most interesting thing that you use your jailbroken iphone for?
- What would you do if you were watching your favorite show, and your 20 year old kid turned off the TV so that you couldn't watch it? I pay all the bills at the house. I normally watch AHS once a week with my kid. This week, she told me to go watch it in my own room. I told her my TV wasn't working and we would just have to watch it in her room. She turned off the TV so that I couldn't watch it. Then, she pompously pulled out her iPhone and proceeded to watch it on her iPhone. What would you do if this happened to you?
- What is your favorite game on your tablet or mobile? Mine is Gun Bros 2. I like action and adventurous games. What are your favorite games? I get very few games on iPhone and I'm looking for more to play, your recommendation will be very helpful I think, and 10 points will be given out. Preferably iOS games, thank you.
