What steps do I need to take to learn to program iPhone Apps?
I just graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree. It didn't take long to realize the future is programming. I want to start programming iPhone apps. I don't care if it takes a year or more to learn. Can someone spell out exactly the things I need to learn to become an iPhone App programmer? I have zero programming experience, but have used WYSIWYG web builders to create web sites and have some MATLAB experience.
Point me in the right direction. Where do I start? IPhone App Development for Dummies book?

also you can buy from apple the Developers Kit.
First you need to learn how to code in C. Buy this book and work through it slowly:

Don't let the date put you off. It was written by the author of the C programming language himself and the core of the language has not changed. It is the best book ever written for C. You may find it a bit challenging if you have never programmed before.
iPhone apps are written in Objective-C. Objective-C is a superset of the C language---the language can be viewed as an extension of C, which is why you need to be competent at basic C programming before learning Objective-C. The next step is to learn Objective-C.
The final step is to learn app development for iPhone. The tools are free and Apple maintains a large database of information and articles about both Objective-C and iPhone development. You may find books helpful but they will all be dated compared to the official developer site.
Welcome to my world. I started last June but found out I was better at coming up with ideas for iPhone apps rather than programming them. This all depends on if you want to make a living programming or a living making iPhone apps. I chose the latter and haven't looked back since. Wish you the best.

I think IOS app development is not easy. I think you should join the app development classes for this. Raeding the course book also may help. I think the app development software can be gained at apple developers.
- What do I do SEVERE anxiety? What steps should I take? My name's Brooke and I have VERY frequent panic attacks. When I say frequent I mean multiple small ones a day and 3 or 4 big ones a week. It's getting in the way of my work and drains me. I'm constantly tired yet when it comes time for bed I can't fall asleep. I will throw in a odd thing I freak out over to lighten the question… I bob and weave while outside because I feel like a gun is pointed at my head. No joke it's funny after, but during it SUCKS.
- What code do I need to learn to make an iPhone game application? Also, what do I need to use to make the app on my Windows computer? I'm making a game sort of like Temple Run.
