What this teachers action appropriate?
I was sitting in English class, typing my notes as I usually would. The teachers iPhone then went off. She proceeded to apologize and reply to the text as it was important. Another teacher was in the room at the time the phone went off. He noticed a lump in my pocket from my phone. I had been using an HTC Dream aka T-Mobile G1, which was a rather thick phone. The phone also did not have the iPhone tri-tone ringtone. He took it from me and proceeded to turn the phone on and look at my photos and text messages. The principal later refused to give my phone back to me. The student handbook states that a cell phone is allowed to be on one's person as long as the phone is off and out of site. The phone being turned off and in my pocket was obviously allowed within the rules. The principal even recommended that solution after my locker was broken into. She refused to give my my phone. This is the same principal that had to replace 3 iPads as they were stolen from her desk. I do not believe that this action was appropriate given that I did not break any of the rules. Further proof that it was not in fact my phone was that the phone contained no SIM card at the time, as it was in my HTC One. I'm unsure whether I should give the principal a copy of the handbook with the phone section highlighted. I had to do that last year when the old principal took nearly 150 phones from students before school hours.
It was not appropriate. Hopefully your parents can get your phone back for you, it would be within your rights to show the rule to her and ask for your phone or why they are keeping it. I also think it would be okay to say that you broke no rules that you know of and if your phone is not returned you will have no recourse but to report it as stolen to the police. All of this done with politeness.
- Why further action on Craigslist ads? I keep posting in the personals through my iPhone app and it used to just post from there. Nowadays it says further action required, sends me an email, then I have to click a link, then accept terms then it posts. It's not that bad but anyone know why it's doing that?

- Teachers, are the i-Pad kids different? You know the ones I mean: the kids who have been glued to the iPad/iPhone/Tablet device since age 1 or younger. Are their social/motor skills any different from previous generations? Or has the iPad had a positive effect?
