What to do if iPhone gets submerged in pool?
Ok, so my iPhone 5s was in the Lifeproof case and I took it swimming with me. The charging port came open and some water got in and water probably got in the phone. The water has chlorine in it and I heard when the phone dries, it leaves residue behind and you should treat it in a pure grain alcohol bath. I only have 70% Isopropyl alcohol. Will this work?
Take it to the apple store and tell them that you accidentally dropped your iphone in the pool
70% alcohol means the rest is probably water or something. You need something like denatured alcohol which is more like 95 or 98% pure alcohol.
I would probably not recommend swimming with your iPhone, case or not. Those are more meant to prevent accidents, not protect you from being reckless with your phone.
- My iphone was fully submerged in a pool for several minutes? I'm trying the rice method which I have read about with mixed results, but I assume it is going to be a complete loss. I have read something about an out of warranty replacement. It is a 4s and bought less than a year ago. Does anyone have experience with this?
- My iphone 5 got fully submerged in water So I was swimming with my friend in our lake and my iPhone 5 was in my pocket. And I jumped in. We swam for about 5 minutes. When we came back. Well, you know the rest. Now, I let it dry and plugged it in. Came on, no water damage on screen. Looked fine. But shut off shortly after. Is this recoverable? If so, how?
- My Iphone 4 fell in a pool but not just a normal pool? It fell off my pocket and stayed at the bottom of the pool which was filled with sea water for 10 minutes, is there even 1% chance of it beeing fixed?
- Is it possible to fix an iphone 4s which have been submerged into water? I dropped my Iphone 4s into the toilet bowl recently. I did quickly fished it out in less than 5 seconds but i tried to test and use it for a while and a few minutes later it shut down on its own. The next morning i send it for repair. It has been 4 days since i send it for repair. Is it possible to save it? I'm really worried, if you send it for water repair does it usually take so long?
