What to do when you pay for something and don't receive it off gumtree?
Hi everyone I purchased an iPhone 6 on gumtree for $700 and spoke to the lady over text, she told me that she would include postage and everything in that and I had a bit of a delay where I couldn t pay her straight away so I waited and she did and the next day I paid for it and she said she would send it off when she had the time then I messaged her the next day and she didn't respond it's been 2 days with no response the phone is meant to be here Monday if it doesn't arrive what should I do it's a lot of money to lose
Btw I have the imei code for it and it seems legit
Gumtree is not like eBay where you pay up front and they send you the goods and you are covered by paypal, credit card. You are supposed to meet the person and pay them the money for the goods after you have picked it up from them. I don't think gumtree covers you for anything - correct me if I'm wrong.
How did you pay for the goods? Credit card and do you have some information about the person name and address phone number etc? You may possibly? Be able to track them down, or you can reverse charges if you paid by credit card. Sending a bank cheque, money order or cash is risky and unless the person is honest? You will find it difficult to get your money back. There are too many con artists in the world today, it is best not to trust anyone unless you are completely guaranteed some cover for your loss.
Why would you pay up front? I don't get that at all. If you did then it better have been by credit card or check, because check you have proof who it was paid to, and credit card you are protected.
Gumtree is ONLY supposed to be for face to face CASH transactions or it's always a scam. 99% of iPhones being sold online either don't exist, are stolen or are chinese fakes which is why you never buy one unless you can meet the seller ar the Apple Store or a phone store and verify the phone so authentic and not stolen
You've been scammed and need to go to the police. Since you paid by Bank transfer they should be able to find the scammer. I guarantee you aren't the first or last victI'm
Have a friend contact the person saying they saw the phone on Gumtree and want to buy it and I guarantee they will tell them the same thing they told you
- Why don't I receive alerts or a notification when I receive a text and I already checked my settings? I adjusted my setting and even put the ringer and notifications on and put the volume and ringer on and I receive no alert, no pop up, alert or notification when someone texts me. Why? This is the iPhone X! I went to the cell phone/ carrier store and they didn't help me. They said to go to the apple store or check the settings. I already adjusted the settings. So what do I do now?
- What happens if you don't pay for something in eBay? Okay so I bid for an iPhone on eBay, but now I really don't want it. So what happens if I don't pay it? Does it get legal, like a bad credit score or something? Or is it just a bad rating on eBay and nothing else happens?

I ordered a charger for my iPhone and it comes with a 18 month worry free warranty and my charger broke. So I was wondering can I return it to the seller in a envelope in my mailbox and same thing for the other thing that is broken. like or do I have to go to ups and ship it like that
