What uses data on an iPhone? - 1
So basically, I'm totally clueless on these kind of things and I've been looking at the plans for iPhones, and I found one that said unlimited 4G data. What on earth does that mean! Also, I hear people say " Oh, I went over my data plan and ***." Since I have no idea what uses data could you please explain? Good grief, I sound really dumb…
Say if you are at your house and you were connected to your wi-fi, then it uses no data. If you are lets say in your car and you are using anything that would use wi-fi, it uses your data
You are using data any time you access the internet or use an app that accesses the internet.
However usually at your house you have Wi-Fi. This is what the computers connect to and you pay a monthly Wi-Fi fee. You can connect any Wi-Fi enabled device to that Wi-Fi network. If you are connected to that Wi-Fi network then you aren't using your data. You are using data from that Wi-Fi network which is usually unlimited. But on the other hand you have to pay for DATA for when you are away from a Wi-Fi network. So let's say you are walking down the street and you want to check your twitter you would have to turn you data on in order to do that. If you are ever connected to a Wi-Fi network then you are not using data if you aren't than you are. You can turn both off if you want to. But then you won't be able to access the internet. Data is provided by the carrier Wi-Fi your own thing that you already have.
An unlimited plan allows you to use as much data as you want a month for 1 flat fee vs limited plans where you are given a set amount to use a month & then pay extra for whatever you use beyond that.
Anything requiring internet access being done using 4G will count as data usage.
- When does data for a iphone from Verizon reset? And what uses up data? I just got an iPhone and I'm getting messages that say that the "usage reset date" is 10/10. Does that mean that is the day my data will be reset? Also, what uses up data? All I've been doing since I got my iPhone is texting and looking at a few things on the internet but I'm always connected to my Wi-Fi.
- What uses up the GB of data on my iPhone 5s? In my deal it says I have 1gb of data browsing, what uses that up?! If I had no Wi-Fi and wanted to go on snapchat or Instagram would that use up data? Also is 1GB enough?
- What uses Data on my iPhone? - 1 I've apparently used up 90% of my allowed data that was supposed to last till the 15th. I don't have a computer so I use my phone for pretty much everything. I obviously have to cut back but I don't wanna just turn off my phone and keep it off for 3 weeks. I use FaceBook, YouTube, Tumblr, Chrome, a web proxy, iFunny, and I think that's all the APPS I use. I also listen to music on my iPhone, do I have to stop using that as well?
- What uses data on an iPhone? So I just got my iPhone, and I have a 1GB Family Share Plan with my dad. He said to be careful about going over the data limit, or Verizon would end up charging us extra… So what uses up the data on the phone? I know that if I'm connected to wi-fi it won't be affected, but if I go on Safari or YouTube using 4G, how much will it take? Can someone tell me what exactly effects the phone's data usage?
