Well yes because technology is moving forward at a fast pace.
The iPhone 5 was the last model that he was instrumental in bringing to Market.
He just didn't live long enough to Introduce it, on stage, to the world.
The next iPhone (5S or 6, or?) will be the first he wasn't directly involved in developing, other than in the early planning stages.
