What's the device used in mini stereos?
In those little stereos where you're able to connect your phone what is the bluetooth device called that allows you to connect? LEts say i wanted to build my stereo from scratch what would the bluetooth part be called? A Bluetooth Receiver? Transmitter? I want it to be locatable by phones like if i had an Iphone i want it to be able to connect to it and play the music from the Iphone. What would that device be called?
Just look for the Bluetooth logo on the stereo. For audio playback it must support "A2DP" (advanced audio distribution profile).
Internally it's a variety of components. First you have a Bluetooth radio. (All Bluetooth radios both transmit and receive, regardless of what they're used for - they have to in order to "pair" with any other Bluetooth device.) Then the support for the A2DP is programmed into the stereo's microcontroller, to which the Bluetooth radio is interfaced.
It is an A2DP receiver. It may be a module, and somehow integrated into the CPU/DAC of the system.
You can get standalone A2DP receivers that you just connect to power and an audio amp or headphones. They usually have a button to activate pair mode.

- This iphone can't be used because the apple mobile device is not started? I just got my iphone about 1 week ago and it's brand new!
