When I turn off Wi-Fi on my iphone by sliding up it just makes it so i'm not connected to the same Wi-Fi anymore, but keeps Wi-Fi on?

When I "turn off Wi-Fi" on my iphone by sliding up it just makes it so i'm not connected to the same Wi-Fi anymore, but keeps Wi-Fi on. In order to really turn it off I have to go into my settings and then into Wi-Fi and then the slider.

Is there a way to set it back to how it was before they did that to the Wi-Fi button?

I don't really benefit from having my Wi-Fi on or my bluetooth for that matter cuz it drains my battery but when i'm at home ill use it, turn it on, and then either just disconnect but leave bluetooth on, or go into the settings etc. Its a hassle.

Configuration.

That's Technology for you, it complicates anything simple.

Why don't you just hit the 'Airplane' button?

I'm a big Apple fan, but this is one of those annoying things the egghead developers at Apple did to "make things easier for you." You have to turn off Wi-Fi from the settings menu or it will restart every day.

No, that's just the new version of iOS.
