When you restore your iphone completely, with it undo the unlocking?

I bought an iphone from this chick on craigslist and she said it was unlocked but now that i got my new sim, it says it has to be with your carrier… When she restored it, did it undo the locking?

What iphone and carrier?

If it's a software unlock then yes you will lose he unlock when restoring or updating the firmware. If it's factory unlocked then no you will not lose unlock under any circumstance.

I believe in you're situation you need the original carrier SIM card in the phone just to get pass the activating process. But with that being said it sounds like the phone is no longer unlocked unfortunately.

Yes it will be locked if the iphone is not factory unlocked.

Yes, Once when an iPhone is restored it has chances to get relocked. Your iPhone 4 is also now relocked to AT&T.

When she restored it it lost the unlock if it was software unlock you would have to jailbreak then unlock again. You can get it here http://unlockiphone-4s.net/
If it was a Permanent, Apple unlock it will stay unlocked forever.
