Where are Apple Firmware files stored? - 1

I've downloaded the files, but I haven't been able to update my iPhone because I need to update iTunes. Now I'm not sure where the firmware files are located. :L My OS is Windows 7

IPSW location in Windows

The exact location of IPSW files depends on the Windows version, username, and the iOS hardware you are using. For example here is the location for user 'username' with an iPhone:
Windows XP: \Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates
Windows Vista & Windows 7: \Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

If you are a Windows 7 user looking for an iPod touch IPSW it would be located at:

C:/Users/username/AppData/Roaming/Appl… Computer/iTunes/iPod Software Updates

  • Why does my iphone have 4 gigs of other stored on it? When I plug my iphone into my laptop it says there's 4.8 gigs of a category called other? What is that and how can I remove it?
  • Where is my Iphone's backup stored? I was just trying to sync some songs to my iphone, but it started to backup. During that my computer ran out of space (because of the backup) and now the backup wasn't finished (so it didn't appear on the preferences) and I have no idea where it is! And my computer is out of space. What do I do? I have no idea where to find the unfinished backup… Btw I have an Iphone 4s with ios 6.0.1 and my computer is windows vista if that helps…
  • Where is music stored on my iphone 5? My friend sent me a song attached to an email. I downloaded the attachment and can play it from the email but where is the song now stored on my phone?
  • Where are photos stored while importing with iPhoto? I was importing pics of a mates iPhone but an error occurred halfway through each time saying some jargon but i could see a lot were successfully imported before that happened and i'm wondering where they are stored as i can't see them in iPhoto anywhere or its folder through finder. Is there a temp folder they go first? Should i do a "rebuild"?
