Where is the memory storage on an iPhone 4 logic board?
If I take apart my iPhone 4 which part of the logic board would have the storage saved from old photos, apps, and text messages.
There's a TON of old memories in my iPhone 4 and I'd really love to retrieve them.
Lol good luck with that
The data is stored in a memory that could be part of the main microprocessor chip,
or possibly a separate chip.
Better be careful mucking about inside modern electronics ---
even a tiny discharge of static electricity can zap your memories out of existence,
or at least make them permanently inaccessible.
There's No way to retrieve anything from the phone's memory by You opening it.
The storage is located on the opposite face of the logic board holding the CPU. You can't just unplug it though, removing it would not be easy even for someone used to making repairs to such devices. Once removed you would then need to mate it up with suitable driver chips so that it could be accessed. Even after all this there's the chance that it is encrypted!
So, can you find the storage on the board: yes. Could it be removed: yes. Could it then be read: maybe! And the cost, you are probably looking at $2000 with no guarantee that it will actually work!
Far better it there's any usability left in the phone, is to get it hooked up and accessed via iTunes.
What you propose is pointless.
The data is all encrypted, and is impossible to decipher unless you have a working iPhone which will accept all of your security credentials. It also wouldn't work if the storage was removed from the board and connected to another working iPhone as the encryption also uses the unique hardware fingerprint of the motherboard it was manufactured with.
Even Apple themselves can't do as you wish.
Not going to work. Connect the phone to iTunes to transfer the files.
- Will changing the logic board on an iphone 5s take it out of recovery mode? My iphone 5s is stuck in recovery mode / DFU. Only get an apple symbol when put on charge which keep flickering on and off. When trying to restore via itunes i keep gettin code 4005 or 3014. Would replacing the logic board fix this? If so would i need to replace any other components at the same time? any other suggestions?
- Where can i buy a iphone 4 logic board? I need a new iphone 4 logic board, i can't afford to get a new iphone, so I was wondering if anybody knows where to get a new motherboard. I looked on ebay, but i'm not so trusting with the sellers on there. If anybody knows of a legit site that won't break the bank, I would really appreciate it.
- What happens if you replace the logic board in an iphone 4s? I have a Verizon iphone 4s. The logic board is in perfect condition and so is the SIM card, but it is the outer components that are requiring me to get a new phone. I want to just replace the logic board and SIM card from the new phone with my old ones. Is this possible? And once I receive the new phone, can I just install my original logic board and SIM card or should I try to activate the phone first?
