Which Camera to Buy: Nikon Coolpix P330 or Olympus SH-1? - 1
Added (1). I'm looking to purchase a camera for my upcoming vacation; something better than my iPhone 6. I need something with picture quality the most important factor. I'm torn between these two cameras. I found the Nikon used for a good price on eBay and the Olympus a little more expensive new on Amazon.

There isn't much between them. Either will be absolutely fine for your vacation. The Nikon has a very slightly larger (therefore better) sensor than the Olympus. Both have larger sensors than any phone, and both have optical zoom which phones do not, so that's good.
However there are compact cameras out there with larger and better sensors. Have a look at this list here which I have filtered for larger sensor compacts: http://www.dpreview.com/...ds%2CAPSCH Most of them are cheaper than an iPhone 6.

The Olympus SH-1 probably has an above average quality lens for its zoom range, and it has more generous zoom range than the Nikon P330. However, it is cramming 16 MP into a little 1/2.3" sensor, so it will have a lot of smudgy noise reduction artifact. The Nikon P330 should have better image quality from its 1/1.7" sensor with 12 MP. A weakness of the P330 is frequently sluggish autofocus, and that struggles in low light. When it does lock on, accuracy is usually very good. That's assuming a good sample in good condition.
