Which carrier is my iphone locked to after an unofficial modification?
I have an iphone4 8G, was locked to Fido(Canadian carrier) initially.
I need it to work with Rogers(another Canadian carrier) so I went to a mobile store to unlock it.
The store didn't have a code to unlock Fido, but instead he had a code to change the carrier from Fido to Rogers, I don't know exactly how he did it, but the result is that my phone is locked to Rogers now. The memory had also been expanded from 8G to 16G.
My question is, now I need to unlock it completely to use it overseas.
When I'm looking for unlocking services online, I need to be sure which carrier my iphone is locked to, in order to purchase the service. I consulted an ebay seller, but he wouldn't tell me unless I pay an extra service fee. If I purchase the code for the wrong carrier, the unlock will fail and I won't get any refund.
I hope I explained clearly, my iphone4 is now 16G and only works with Rogers sim card, but the IMEI number still says it's an 8G locked iphone4.

I suggest to know the lock/unlock status of an iPhone 4 contact the customer support of Classicunlocking.com and get the necessary info about whether your iPhone is locked and to which network it is locked to… They also provide permanent unlock solution through their remote unlock service.
- Will using an Unofficial sim card activate iphone 4? So my iphone 4 doesn't have a data plan on it, so i'm just using it to play games and stuff. But then i had a restart loop, so i had no choice but to restore. Now i have to activate the phone, but nothing seems to work(redsnow). Can you activate an iphone 4 (6.0.1) with a sim card that doesn't have a data plan on it?

- If I buy an iphone used from another carrier ad buy a sim card from my carrier will that work? I have an iphone 4s with virgin mobile and I want an iphone 5 but all virgin mobile phones are so expensive! I looked on ebay for virgin mobile nano sim cards and they are only around 2 dollars. If I bought one of these sim cards and a used iphone 5 from another carrier would it work with my carrier?
- I bought an iPhone 5 & it's locked by carrier? Alright so I go through the factory settings such as language & Wi-Fi then I come across this message that says that the phone is locked with the carrier. (ATT&T) Should I take it to the carrier?
