Which case is better for an iPhone 5c?

I just purchased an iPhone 5c in pink and was wondering whether I should purchase a lifeproof case for it or an otterbox. Lifeproof retails for $80 while Otterbox retails for $60, and I was wondering if the LifeProof was worth the extra $20. I've read reviews on both sites and LifeProof rates higher than the OtterBox. I was asking on here to see if anyone has had personal experience with one or both, any help is appreciated!

If you have an experience with dropping your phone, getting it dirty, or getting it wet LifeProof is definitely the way to go! The extra $20 is amazing if you think about what the case can do while the OtterBox only protects the phone. The LifeProof I would say is worth the $20 I believe because i would love to take pictures under the water. Plus i have a record of cracking my phones, but yeah. Hope this helps.

Well I also have a 5c and had otterbox with all my iPhones before and it was really good I tried lifeproof a while back but I returned it because the cases were really bad quality and were not worth the money I have never had a problem with otterbox and if you don't want a otterbox another option is a griffen survivor I have also used them a lot and they work just as well but I would honestly recommend otterbox hope this helps

I have used the otterbox defender for years on blackberry and iPhones. The rubber always loosened up and didn't fit tight after 6 to 8 months. My friend bought a defender case this past summer 2012. I noticed the rubber was much stiffer so I figured otterbox redesigned their rubber to prevent it stretching out and not fitting. Well 6 months later he's buying a new case because the rubber got stretched and is very loose fitting. I will never buy an otterbox product again.

So I decided to give the lifeproof case a try. All the reviews were correct and I returned it within a few days.

Finally found a case that's lasted 8 months and it's not all worn out. It's the Ballistic HD case for $50 at Meijer stores. I'm sure it can be found for cheaper however. What's nice about the case is you can remove the rubber part of the case off and the phone is still is protected very well. It also comes with a good beltclip that holds the phone very well.

I NEVER use the built in screen protector on any case. They all are cheap plastic that scratches and causes the rainbow effect. I always remove the built in screen protector and put on a Zagg HD screen protector.

My experience is use the Ballistic HD case and a Zagg screen protector.
