Which coding language should I learn next?
Just finished my first year of college for computer science, and I learned C++. What should I go for next. I'm thinking app designing languages, and I have an iPhone. Should I go for Swift?
None of that really matters as far as getting a job when you are out, what you learn in college is a tiny fraction of what you actually learn in a real job.
If you're considering making iPhone apps, then yes, learn Swift (although this language is currently changing pretty rapidly when compared to older languages like C++, I did Swift last semester at Uni (my Uni was one of the first in the world to teach it) but some of what I've learned is already outdated and with Swift 2.0 coming out later this year, it's going to change even more).
You should also consider Android development too, you don't need an Android device to test your apps (the industry prefers hiring developers that can work on both nowadays).
- Would playing The Sims in another language be a good way to learn that language? I play The Sims a lot anyway. There's a lot of volcabulary like household objects, emotions, everyday tasks etc This wouldn't be my only way of learning btw. I also have a learning French iphone app and a friend who is fluent.
- Which Computer language should I learn? I'm in 9th grade and I'm interested in computer programming but I don't know where to begin. I was thinking JAVA, or the C languages. As an adult I want to be a Software engineer but while I'm in high school I want to do some iPhone app development and write up some mods for video games so what is the best languages for my interests.
- Want to learn coding. C before Obj-C? And where to begin? I want to learn objective-C so that I can eventually get to where I can make iPhone apps. Would it be beneficial to learn C before Objective-C or would it just be a waste of time? Also, where should I begin with C/Obj-C? With books, YouTube videos, or what?
- Should i buy the iphone 8 plus/X next month or wait for the next release which is in September 2018? I'm thinking of getting a new iphone next month but my dad suggested i wait for the new ones in September, what do you guys think and if you think i should get one of the current iphones which should i get the 8 plus or the X?
