Which Computer language should I learn?

I'm in 9th grade and I'm interested in computer programming but I don't know where to begin. I was thinking JAVA, or the C languages. As an adult I want to be a Software engineer but while I'm in high school I want to do some iPhone app development and write up some mods for video games so what is the best languages for my interests.

Buy your self a Mac computer download x code all apps are wrote in x code then just buy a book to teach you how to use x code language. I learned a lot on how to code with the app C++

" I'm interested in computer programming "

So you want to learn programming rather than limit yourself to learning a programming language. Programming languages are tools used to do assorted jobs.

If you were interested in carpentry would you ask which tool should I learn to use a chisel or a plane or drill?

Python is a good starting point. The excellent Think Python is free as a PDF from here…

Note the sub-title and read the introduction.

Java is a good start.

You can watch few tutorials here: http://thenewboston.org/tutorials.php

For your interests as stated Cocoa for the Mac and --believe it or not Javascript which is a version of ECMAscript which is used in some games. But you're really better off in 9th grade learning Java -- which at least will let you develop for Android -- and learning the others later.

Explore a bit, see what cs is all about, the language you use is not important, we could automate calculations with sticks if we had to.

Rock on

If you want to be a good programmer then learn C/C++ or Java first. Then do some exercises. Then you can easily learn other languages easily like Objective-C etc.
