While texting on Wi-Fi, am i using data?
When i'm on my iphone with all cellular data turned off, using only Wi-Fi, my data isn't being used while texting, right?
Obviously Not.
If the other person has an iPhone and you are both texting over iMessage rather than regular texts then no you aren't using data. If you send videos pictures nothing will be charged since you are both using iMessage and have Wi-Fi.
Texting doesn't use data regardless.
And it's usually not done over Wi-Fi unless you have a texting app.
Plans include texting, data and minutes. They are independent from each other.
- Why am I being charge for using data while I'm on Wi-Fi? I just got a new iPhone 5 and I have been watching a lot of YouTube videos while on Wi-Fi with my cellular data is off and I'm being charged for watching all of the videos. I have I only used data to look up 1 thing and I have used up 2 out of 3 GB in 2 days please tell me why. I'm on AT&T I have called AT&T and they did absolutely nothing.
- Using location services on iPhone while cellular data is off? If I have turned off cellular data on my iPhone 5 and have location services on, will I be charged? In other words, do location services use cellular data when Wi-Fi is not available, even though I have turned off cellular data?
- Texting notification to the person I'm texting? How do I change on my iPhone 5s so the person I'm texting doesn't see that I'm texting them with the bubble
- Is talking on your cell phone (not texting) while driving against the law? I have a head set with a speaker that covers only one ear. I can hear everything else with my other ear while using my cell phone (not Iphone). Is this legal?
