Who can tell me how to transfer my iPhone data to Google Nexus 5?

I just purchased this amazing device called Google Nexus 5. Previously I was using iPhone 5 so now I looking to transfer all the data from my iPhone to Google nexus 5. Can anybody here please advise what should I do to transfer or copy iPhone 5 data to my new Nexus 5 Android. I can't afford to lose my important contacts and text messages. This is my first question here, any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure about how you can transfer all types of data from your iPhone to Google nexus 5. But if you have a Gmail account, you can sync contacts from your iPhone to Gmail and get them on your Google nexus too provided you use the same Gmail account on your nexus android.
