Why can't I sync the DVD videos( or movies) to my iphone 5 iTunes to play?

I also know I may need something to help me. So I go to the site and download the latest format factory. Then I try to install on my computer and load the dvd disks. However, I can't be able to transfer the dvd videos to my iphone 5. How should this happen? I'm really feel puzzled. Anyone can help me to solve this problem?

You indeed need something to help. However, you did wrong in your case. However, if you only want to watch your DVD movies in iTunes, you just need an iTunes DVD ripper software。

I think. Handbrake, dvdfab and any dvd cloner platinum are the best dvd rippers. My final choice is any dvd fab as it can covert most of the newly released dvds and I can choose iphone 5 option in the output profile which is much easier for operation. It is a very nice software. Handbrake is free. You can also download to have a try.

First, you have to convert the DVD to iPhone compatible video format, you know that. So what you need to do is to rip the DVD to iPhone 5 output device or MP4 video format with right settings.

Second, transfer the converted video files to iPhone 5 with iTunes or some third-party iPhone transfer tool.(Personally, I prefer M2mate robust iPhone transfer)

The problem may be that the converted video file is not supported in iPhone 5.
You can try another DVD ripper program. I agree with Olsin but I think Any DVD Cloner Platinum is better.
The embedded decryption technology is much more advanced than any other DVD rippers. IPhone 5 is also in the output profile. You can download the demo version from their website.

After you convert your DVD movies to iPhone supported video format, you need to import your movies to iTunes. Then sync the video to your iPhone 5 with you iTunes.
If you need a software that can directly transfer your DVD movies to your iPhone 5. You need aiseesoft iPhone transfer Platinum. It can directly transfer your DVD to your iPhone 5 with the help of iTunes.
Search the name and find their official website, then try the trial version. They are the best.
Merry Christmas!

Merry Xmas. As I know, Format Factory is a video converting software, not a dvd ripping software. You need a dvd ripper to convert your DVD movie to mp4 video first, then you can use iTunes to sync the mp4 video to your iPhone 5, If you stick with freeware, handbrake will help you do the job well. Or you can try some third party software like this dvd ripper, not free, but works fairly well too.

Glad to help you. Contact me if you need further help.

What you lack is dvd ripping software. I often use handbrake to convert many dvds for my phone. You can also use this tool as it can help convert or rip dvds to any video formats you need.

  • If I get someone an iTunes gift card, can they use it to buy movies and then watch those movies on AppleTV? I haven't really been able to find a practical answer on any Apple site or forum. My brother buys & rents a lot of movies via his AppleTV. I want to get him an iTunes gift card but am not sure if buying movies on the AppleTV works through iTunes. Would an iTunes gift card work for this purpose? I know it may have to be redeemed on a phone/computer but I want to know if it can then be used on the AppleTV.
  • How will I play my DVD movies if DVD players become obsolete? Most of my movies are on Amazon or iTunes or some digital format but I have some DVDs that I have not been able to find in digital format--Cats, The Three Lives of Thomasina, Fantasia. I have those on DVD and I have a CD/DVD drive in my laptop computer but my next computer won't have the drive so how would play the movies on my computer. Right now I hook up my laptop to a large screen and watch. What happens in the future?
  • How to watch my favorite DVD movies on iPhone 6? As iPhone 6 has been released. I'm planing to buy one new iphone 6 instead of my old Android Smart Phone. I would watch some classic DVD movies at house. So, how can I watch DVD movies on this new coming phone?
