Why can't i hear the person singing when i listen to music on my new iphone speakers?

I have the new headsets and i plugged it in to my computer to listen to music and i messed around with the volume thing or something like that so now i can BARLEY hear what the person is singing but i can still hear the background music. I can hear the peron singing when i hold down the button that's in the center of the + and - sign.

Is there a graphic equalizer on your device? Try turning up the 1 kHz range. The human voice resonates from 20 to 3, 000 Hz with most of the power down at the sub 1kHz, so if you've turned that down too far you won't hear much.

Well it just happened i was calling my dad like 10 minuets ago and then i hung up and then called him 5 minuets later and i could hear him but he can't hear me for some reason why is that?
