Why did my number show up as unknown?
I called my boyfriend and my number came up as unknown, even though I didn't call on private. Any idea why? I have an iphone 4.
He deleted your number.
He deleted your number. Or he has problem with his cell phone service. He could take it in and they will change it. It happened to me before.
Try going into
"settings"
"phone"
"show my caller ID"
and check if it is "on".
If it is on than he must not be paying to have Caller ID on his phone anymore. So it's probably not just your call coming In "unknown", all of his other calls will be too.
I have an iPhone 4S and one day my caller ID just stopped. It was an option to pay for in my contract but I guess it ran out after a year.
All people that call me show up as UNKNOWN. Have him call his phone company if he really wants the Caller ID because it's an add on feature that most people have to pay for.

Not a number that I don't know, it literally said "Unknown" where the number was supposed to be. There was no text in the message, and I responded with, "Hi, who's this?" and I got one of those error messages in return. What does this mean? How do you even send a text message from a blocked number?
