Why do my pictures take up so much storage?
I have a black iPhone 5s and it's capacity is 12.1 gigabytes. I also have bought 200 gigabytes for iCloud storage. I've had my iPhone 5s for almost a year now, and my storage has been acting up lately. I've deleted most of my pictures and I now only have 35 pictures and 2 videos. The weird part- it says that my photo library takes up 10.2 gigabytes! I can't download and other apps and the only other apps that I have are Clash of Clans, PlayBuzz and Wishbone. I have no songs.
Try deleting the photo stream.
This is a very common issue. I frequently end up backing my photos to iTunes and re adding them, as quite a lot of this is 'other data' which can only be removed in a restore.
However, if you set your date and time back to around the time when you purchased the phone (if you don't know how to google it, I think you will though) and go to your recently deleted. Delete all the photos there.
That frees a lot of space up, as they're known as 'phantom images'
- Why is my iphone letting me take pictures if my storage is full? My storage on my iphone is full so its saying i can't take aby more photos until i delete other photos. But how come to the next day my camera is letting me take pictures again? I find this really weird if my storage is supposedly full? Why is this?
- Why do my pictures take up so much space on my iPhone? In usage, it says that photos and camera take up 10.8gb. I have a 16gb iPhone and 910 pictures. The thing I'm confused about is that on my friends phone she has more than 1000 photos but in usage it says pictures uses 2gb. How can I fix mine to save space?
- Why do my photos on my iPhone 4s take up so much storage? I have 455 items on my camera roll. I have about 80 videos, none go over 2 minutes. The total storage used by my 455 items on my camera roll is 8.83 gb. How do I fix this problem?
- Why do my iPhone pictures take up so much gigabytes? I have a 32GB iPhone 5, and I'm trying to free up space on my phone, I only have 379 pictures (31 videos but they aren't long, longest video is 5 minutes) and it's used up 6.4 GB! My friends have somewhere near 800 pictures and they only use up around 1 or 2 GB. Any reason why my pictures use up so much GB? And any way I can make them use less?
