Why do so many people go crazy for new gadgets and technology?
Queue up for days just to be the first to get a new iPhone…
Upgrading things when the old one works just fine…
Why do people want the newest "in" thing so much? What's wrong with buying a phone and keeping it for 5 years until it breaks down and THEN replacing it?
Because they are brainwashed idiots who are unable to have an original thought of their own and blindly follow all the other sheep who think something is good because an advertisement told them it was good. Most of these people are lacking in intelligence.
Conformity is so easy… And it feels so good, if youre vain and materialistic.
Well there are probably a good number of reasons.
On the subject of upgrades that don't leave one doing anything new with it; it tends to be a social thing, where the individual is motivated by others wanting it. This will be the goal of marketing a minor upgrade. Of course there's also the factor of novelty, a new gimmick or included software feature may make one feel the need to upgrade it, but rarely that alone. Overall I'd say a key factor is successful marketing.
But be sure not to project your usage onto others. You along with most others may not do hardware intensive things on their devices, while others may. For example emulating other operating systems for certain games; that become extremely hardware intensive. Some upgrade for reasons like that, but it is certainly the minority.
There will always be THE I WANTS in life Dude…
Maybe these guys don't have happiness in their lives or maybe they are very insecure people…
They are WHO THEY ARE…
I can't wait to get 5S, I'll probably get it next week. You can live in a cave to if you want, why not since it doesn't cost you anything? Caves still work fine.
I remember people queuing up for the windows software when it first came out and they didn't even have computers, it was just the hype. Seems like people like any kind of 'new' I wonder if it gives a sense of being at the hub - the centre of society and not left out on the fringes -like living the metaphor
Maybe because its the only excitement in their life

- Why is gadgets are so addictive? I had my iphone last year. It is my first time to own a smartphone. It is even fun to have when all my friends had it too. I realized I spent to much of my times on smartphone for social network and whatsapp. I can't control myself. I tried not to online but failed somehow.
- Why do some people try to show off their expensive gadgets? Like they always keep their iPhone on their hand or wear sunglasses and try to act cool and what not. In reality, they're just losers with no life. So why do people do this? Are they just really insecure?
- Why do so many people wait in line for the new iPhone every year? Seriously, why not just wait a few days or weeks to get it? I just don't see the point in going out to the Apple Store really early to wait in a huge line just to get the new iPhone.
