Why does everyone have the iPhone 4 and 4s? I see nobody with the 5, 5c, or 5s?

In my school, I only saw like one guy have an iPhone 5 and that was last year. My school is pretty big too, about 2, 500-2, 600 people. Then, I will see the occasional Galaxy S3/S4

Because if someone has the 4s or sonething, its not they are going to spend another £500
But yeh, people might be getting them fir Christmas c

Speaking as a parent whose teenagers own the 4s and their friends generally have the 4 or 4s it seems to work in one of two ways, either the phone is bought for them so it is cheaper outright to buy the 4 or 4s and even more so if you go for a used one or the parent upgrades and their child is then given their old phone.

We upgraded to the 5 and gave our teenage daughters our 4s models, my other daughter is getting that bit older and is showing interest in an iphone now too and for her birthday we're considering buying her a used 4 or 4s, anything more is just too expensive.

The 4 and 4s are still perfectly decent phones, we only got upgrades because they were contract ending deals and cost no more than we were paying, i refuse to fall into the Apple trap of always having the latest model purely because of the cost and I don't want my children to either, the older models are still good and much more affordable too.

Maybe some of your colleagues do have the iPhone 5 and you are just not telling the difference since all iPhones look the same.

Or maybe no one in your school is crazy enough to want to buy every new iPhone that comes out since the iPhone is just an over-hyped and unnecessarily expensive phone.

Or maybe the iPhone 5s really IS so expensive that no one in your school has been able to afford it so far.

The people at your school must be pretty smart then, apple release a new phone every year which is always about a year behind the current tech. But there's that many fanboys out there who will pay the money just to look cool.

That is because, the iPhone 5c and 5s just came out a few weeks ago and the iPhone 5 has been out for only a little bit over a year
