Why does my iPhone 4 show No Sim Card Installed?

I recently dropped my iPhone 4 on the ground. When I picked it up, the iPhone displayed a message reading 'No Sim Card Installed".It also says "No Sim" on the top left corner where the signal strength is suppose to be at. What do I do? Do I open the iPhone? How can I without damaging the iPhone?

I take it you have an att iphone cus its the only carrier that has sims for the iphone. Try turning it off and back on. If that doesn't work, take the micro sim out and put it back in with the phone off.

So take out your sim card and try to fix it. If that doesn't work take it to your cell phone comany.

The only thing that gets the network going again is to restart my phone. It's an iPhone 5 and I've only had it since December. No drops, no damage. It's a minor defect, but it still really bugs me. I have had my iPhone 3 for a little over a year, and it is hacked to be an AT&T GoPhone and it was in my pocket and I looked at it, and it said "No SIM Card Installed" and I reset the settings, turned it off, etc. I even took the SIM Card out. Nothing at all is working… How do I fix this problem, fast? Did I ruin my phone by taking the card out? Is there anything I can do without opening it up? (I'm willing to open it though) Please, I need a way to fix this!
  • My iPhone says there's no sim card installed but there's one? My phone has been working fine but up till a couple days ago, a message popped up saying there wasn't a sim installed.
