Why does my iPhone 5 have an E on the network name?

If you're using a Wi-Fi extender, it's actually creating a new network which has the same settings, but the name has _e or -e on the end to distinguish it from the primary network.

It doesn't affect the function of the network at all.

The E stands for Edge, meaning slow speed connection

It means you are on the EDGE network, basically 2G.
