Why does my iPhone 6 (16 GB) show that 11 gigabytes are taken up, when only about a gigabyte of my storage is actually being used?

Please tell me, I can barely do anything on my phone with this! And please tell me if there's a way to fix it!

I have a 16gb iphone 5c that really only has 10 gigs of usable storage.

The ios

I just answered something very similar. Get Dr. Cleaner app. It is a miracle. First few runes run, it will do the most good. Then we run it each week to clean up more fragments.

IOS itself takes up storage as well. Though not that amount. You should check the storage section in the Settings to see what is using the space up.

Try ccleaner. I just got 1 G back.

  • Why does restoring my iphone from a backup use up so many gigabytes? I have an iphone 5 and I'm trying to restore my phone from last backup. Unfortunately, the back up is cancelled about 30 minutes in because my hard disk runs out of space. I have 10 gigs left so there should be any problem with that. I went to mobilesync folder and then to the backup folder and there's one folder there. Once you click on that folder there are thousands of files in that folder that have several modified dates on them. Basically can I just delete the old dated files?
  • Why does my iPhone photos show the places they were taken? I noticed that if someone sends me a picture and I save it to my photo album it'll show where the location the picture was taken at. Some of the pictures I take myself too will show the location in my album. I'm wondering exactly why it does this lol
  • Why does my iPhone 6 (12 GB) have so much storage taken up? My 12 GB iPhone 6 has 11 GB of storage taken up, and the applications don't add up at all to the 11 takes up gigabytes, what's going on?
  • What to do about my iphone storage saying I'm using up way more photo storage than I actually am? My storage says I have 132 photos that's using up most of my storage; almost 3 GB. I have only 52 photos and 15 videos in my phone. It seems like it may be using storage from pictures I deleted, but apparently they're still using space? ? Has this happened to anyone else. I've taken my phone to an apple store, and I didn't get any answers.
