Why does my iPhone start playing music randomly?

I haven't dropped my phone or anything in case you're wondering. It's completely fine, the music plays well and everything. I keep my earbuds in it to make sure if it rings in class or starts playing music I won't get suspended… Anyway, sometimes I put them on to find music playing. When I go to the music app it says that I'm already on my 112th song already (that's an example #)! This has happened a bunch of times and I don't know why. I've already considered that something in backpack or me moving around causes it to turn on by using the shortcut or something but are there any other possibilities and how can I fix them?

I think the shuffle is on, if it is so then make shuffle off

If you leave your apps running, (which is most likely the case) your music will sort of always be on, or at least waiting to play.

With the Iphone, if you shake it, it randomly jumps to the next song. I'm not sure if it starts playing straight away, but if it is the case, that may be why.

If anything, just put your phone on silent, and turn your apps off on the phone when you're finishe with them, (which also save battery as well!).

When it is locked, double pressing the home button, the play button will start a song, do you have a case for it?
Also there's a 'do not disturb' feature which you can set to ignore calls and silence them.
As for the earphones, they might get damaged if left in throughout the school day, etc through being tangled or caught.

My phone randomly starts playing music even when I close out of the app. If I'm on the phone when it happeneds, it drops my call. I continue to completely close out of my music each time but it still continues to turn on. Can someone help as this is effecting my work as I'm in sales and use my phone for calling clients
