Why does my smartphone's screen turn on by itself when my earphones are plugged in? This is extremely?

Annoying. It has caused me to make unwanted phone calls when I accidentally touch it. It has also caused me to accidentally hang up on a person when I'm on a phone call.

At first I thought this was a glitch that only my phone had. But I've heard people who own Galaxies and iphones complain about the same thing.

Could the motion sensor be causing this to happen? How do I turn this damn thing off? I can't find an option to disable this useless and counterproductive feature on my phone. Why does a "motion sensor" even exist? Who is the genius who thought this was a good idea?

FYI: I have an LG X Power

Maybe cause you need another phone that don't do that

  • Why does my iPhone turn the sound on and off itself? It started about an hour ago and it doesn't stop? As soon as it turn it off it turns it on again. And if I try to turn it on or off myself it doesn't work. I've tried restarting it and having it off for a while but it's not working. I just got home from the beach so maybe I got some sand stuck in the volume button thing?
  • Why does my iphone screen keep controlling itself? So my iphone is in horrible shape, in terms of a broken screen. It's having a hard time responding to touch and I can't type. Also, it keeps opening apps on its own. Someone told me that the screen is pressing up against the digitizer and is acting as if I was touching the screen due to the cracks. If so, can I just replace the broken screen or do I have to buy another phone? I want to wait on the iphone 6 to use my upgrade.
  • Why does my iPhone 4S drain extremely fast when 4G is turned on? I always keep my 4G data off because if I leave it on, I'll lose a large percentage of my battery. Why is this? I use AT&T. How do I make my battery not drain? Its a huge difference between the rate my battery drains when you compare it to when I only have Wi-Fi on.
  • Why does my iPhone 4 keep turning off and on by itself when its plugged in? I have an iPhone 4 and whenever I unplug it, it turns off. I can't get any source of signal, the Wi-Fi switch is greyed out, the date changed to December 31 and the time is an hour behind. The battery before I plugged it in was 20% its been 5 minutes and its up to 100%. Pretty weird.
