Why does the iPhone 5 cost USD$199 but AUD$799?

The Australian dollar is stronger than the US dollar at the moment, so why does the iPhone cost way more in Australia?

Its $199 with a contract. A lot more without. Plus, its American product so itll be more expensive in other countries.

Only creating one cost them more
without contract it should be around the 600 - 700 dollars
and since its not in the US there's a rise in price of course
for example and Iphone at my country will cost 1000$ minimum
