Why doesn't a girl chase me already?

From what I've heard, girls chase guys a lot. Is that true? I'm 22 btw, never been with a girl before. Usually every year I avoid women. I never talk to them. I should, but I prefer to avoid them hoping they talk to me. I figure that's how most guys get girlfriends. When I was at a party, I just sat on my iPhone trying to play hard to get or just have my headphones on, hoping some girl taps me on the shoulder and like starts a conversation with me. I feel like it's weird to approach a girl you don't know. Even if I did, what would the girl think? I don't want a girl to think I'm creepy. I'm not trying to scare a girl off. I would NEVER act desperate or anything like that. So the next time I see a girl across from me, what should I do? Ignore her completely? What I don't get is if girls chase guys in movies, then don't they do it in real life? Those 80s movies did it.

If a guy ignored me I wouldn't bother. I'd figure he was weird in a bad way, unfriendly etc. Its one thing to be shy, but being unfriendly is not something that would draw me to a guy. Especially at a party you should be socializing, you don't have to hit on a girl, just talk to people and be friendly. No girl is going to tap you on the shoulder and start a conversation when you are clearly ignoring everyone.

I don't know where on earth you got the idea that women are attracted to guys who pretend they don't exist, but whoever told you this gave you terrible information.

Movies do NOT reflect real life at all. Also I can't think of a movie with a romantic situation like you are trying to set up for yourself.

So next time you see a girl in a social situation, just say hi, make small talk, be friendly and open - you don't have to use stupid pick up lines or hit on her, just be friendly.

I have never ever dated a guy because I wanted to chase him or he was playing "hard to get" if I expressed interest in a guy and he acted blah about it and did't make an effort to get to know me I wouldn't bother with him.

If you avoid women completely in hopes they'll talk to you first well then you're going to be spending a lot of time alone buddy. Guys don't get girlfriend's by just avoiding them because you will come of as rude to them. Also most girls, I'm not say all but most like guys to make the first move. And if you want to date a shy girl you will definitely have to talk to her first, get her comfortable around you and ect.

A girl wouldn't tap you on the shoulder and just start a conversation with you, if you had your headphones on and were on your phone you came off as rude to her because parties are for mingling and meeting new people so why just sit there all alone on your phone, it wouldn't be weird to go up to a girl and talk to her just don't be weird and don't say weird/creepy things.

"So the next time I see a girl across from me, what should I do?" To answer this question I think you should put yourself out there and talk to her, like I said before she won't find you creepy/weird unless you say and do creepy/weird things.

Life isn't' like the movies. Put some effort in, go to bars.
