Why don't I have signal on iPhone 5?

I cut a t mobile micro sim into a nano sim and it recognises the sim but no bars of signal are coming up. When I put the sim into another phone it recovers texts and signal but when I put it back into my iPhone 5 it says no service but it recognises the sim as EE and Tmobile and orange. I was wondering if I need a proper nano sim or is it the phone that's broken.

Are you sure the phone is not locked to a certain network as if it is the SIM will not work.

Hi if the phone isn't locked go to your settings and reset network settings, if this does not resolve the issue plug the phone into itunes, do not update just let it detect your phone, had a few as of late that wouldn't work until this was done, no idea why but seems to fix it

  • Why does the FBI have such a hard time cracking iPhone encryption. Why don't they just use the spy agencie's methods of using spyware? All you need is their phone number, and a cheap piece of software and you have access to everything on the phone (including deleted info) Why make a huge scene about it, when there are much easier ways to bypass lock screen encryption? You don't even need access to the phone, it can remotely install with just one phone call to the number too… Just saying, if the FBI really wanted in, it would be very easy
