Why has cheating in a relationship become a popular trend?

I understand people have been cheating on others since the dawn of time. But it seems in todays age it has become a sport or trend. I see gifs and memes all the time on the internet of people trying to unlocks their lovers iphone so they can see who they are cheating with. And when i googled it, all these sites came up talking about how cheating is good for a relationship. I do not understand this. Someone explain to me why cheating has become awesome.

It seems a trend today because social medial allows people to talk about it, as well as providing potential cheaters with more opportunity to find someone to cheat with. It's not necessarily happening more than it ever has, but it's definitely more widely talked about and made known.

It hasn't. You think it has because the idiots in media make a huge deal out of every little thing. There's probably less cheating than ever because all the tech makes it easier to get caught.

It has always been this way, you just have more sources of news so it seems to be more prevalent…

Because, these hoes ain't loyal

Because moral standards, in general, have fallen

I don't think it has. Once a cheater always a cheater still applies today, those that don't, won't.

It's always been popular. We're more aware of it now because we're a more open society. In the past it was better to be perceived as good than to actually be good, today we tend to be more realistic.

There's something about cheating. It's never really an attack on your lover but it hits deep into ones insecurities. People may be waking up to the notion that we're not programmed biologically to remain monogamous. In fact much of society is at fault for these sort of scenarios.

I fail to see why anyone would think it's ANY kind of a trend. It's been going on since there were three people! Most successful rulers, and business men, had a mistress. They weren't considered successful if they didn't. It's common knowledge and completely verifiable that our past presidents had mistresses, that were known to their wives and were often friends with them. FDR, Nixon, JFK, LBJ, Ike, all had mistresses that were known to the public, and to the media. The media didn't think it was even newsworthy. It's normal and acceptable behavior among the rich, famous, powerful, and successful. Why make a big deal out of it? Doing so just causes a lot of unhappiness. Accept it for what it is! Normal behavior among humans!

  • Why do girls throw stuff at us guys when we get caught cheating? Lol? I got caught cheating on her couple of months ago however she took me back after chasing after her for months! She caught me with another girl then she started throwing the whole world at me, everything she can find. It was like within that moment a girl gets the strength of the strongest man on earth xD she threw a glass, sky remote, shoes, iphone you name it. I had to hide behind my tv until my sister stopped her. Why do girls do this?
  • Why apple products are so popular? I'm just wondering, why Apple is so popular lately, especially the iPhone, iPad and IPad mini. If you ask me, apple products are all the same. Overrated, overhyped, and overpriced. Also, we all know that apple products have a very closed system. Not to mention Apple themselves are evil and anti-competitive. Anyways, I was wondering what you guys think.
  • When did Minecraft become so popular with younger kids? Is it mainly because they all have iPhones and ipads now so they play the pocket edition and not the PC? My younger cousins are obsessed with it but they didn't even know it was a PC game because they had the app
  • Sims free play why can't relationship go higher? I'm really stuck on the iPhone and iPad game "sims free play". My character is in a relationship called "partners" with some one else and it won't go higher. I tried being romantic and being nice but nothing happened. Note: this is not my first character problem. My first character isn't in a relationship
