Why is my internet speed slow?

So I have a netgear router and recently, anything connected to it has had really slow connection speed. My computer (which is wired) and my iPhone (which uses Wi-Fi) both can't load YouTube videos without constant buffering and low res. If it helps I'm with plusnet and just their standard internet service. Not sure what to do as I think I've tried everything

I would recommend unplugging your router and modem for five minutes and then plugging them back in again. This will refresh your connection to your service provider and restart your router. As a broadband user, you may be experiencing low speeds because of high usage in your area. Even though you have a pretty wide bandwidth, it's shared between everyone else in your neighborhood. If you continue to experience slower than normal speeds, contact your ISP and complain. They usually just hit a few buttons and reset your connection.

  • Why is my Wi-Fi speed so slow? I have a HP Pavilion TS 11 Notebook 11-e000sa running Windows 8.1, the network adapters are a Realtek PCIe Family Controller (ethernet) and Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn (Wi-Fi) I have a fibre optic connection, and my PS3 and iPhone are getting wireless speeds well over 30MB/s without any issues, however my laptop struggles to get 2MB/s. All the drivers are up-to-date, but there must be something set wrong. Any help on this would be appreciated!
  • Why does my laptop get such bad internet download speed while my Iphone gets 10 times more? My router is downstairs connected to a Windows vista PC. That PC connected with an ethernet cable gets around 90-100Mbs download speed. I did another speed test on my iphone upstairs next to my laptop, and it got 80-90 Mbs. But When I did the speed test on my laptop, it was only 10Mbs down. It's really annoying because it takes like a billion years to open youtube and everything lags.
  • What is the speed of slow mo video vs Real time on an IPhone 5s? I filmed a physics experiment in slow motion so that I could get an accurate measurement of time, but I'm not sure how to convert the time taken in Slow motion to real time. For example, if something takes 4s to fall when recorded in slow motion, what should I divide/multiply that by to get the value in real time?
  • Slow downloading speed on IPhone? I just did a speed test on my home Wi-Fi and the results showed 35 Mbps but when I download movies on my 5s iOS 8, it shows 188kbps. Does anyone know why this is happening?
