Why is my iPhone quicker to use than my iPod?

I know this sounds like an obvious question but basically, I got a new iPhone and it's so much quicker at browsing the internet, browsing everything. I'm wondering whether that's because the iPhone is just built better to do that or whether it's just a matter of how much data each of them hold, or whether it's because my iPod is older?

I just want to know so I can prevent my iPhone being as slow as my iPod and I don't want to slow it down by deciding to only browse the Internet only on my iPhone which will end up slowing it down like my iPod has been slowed down.

Because your iPhone uses 3G which is often faster than Wi-Fi, which your iPod uses

The connection of your ipod may be very low

IPhone's use 3G, as well as Wi-Fi. 3G is quicker than Wi-Fi

If you have an iPod touch 4th generation, then it will use something called an A4 chip. The iPhone 4s uses the A5 chip which is 9 times better at everything. Also if it's new there won't be as much memory being used, so that would help it as well. As the other answerers said, if you're using 3G at the moment, that can be quicker than Wi-Fi. The iPod only works on Wi-Fi, but the iPhone has 3G connectivity as well. So the internet on your iphone is naturally faster, and you don't have to do much to keep it that way, just don't overload it with junk. Hope I could help.

It depends what model of each device is, although if you have an iPhone 4/4s, then it will be quicker because it has improved components built into it like the A5 chip and so on.

Although do you close your apps on your iPod properly? It might just be a case of that. Simply just double press the menu button, and when the bottom bar comes on, hold one of the apps, and press the red circle for each.
