Why is my Wi-Fi connection on my iPhone and laptop so slow and constantly disconnects?

I'm in college and the Wi-Fi in my room is absolutely horrid. I struggle to watch youtube videos on 144p and the Wi-Fi connection on my phone is similarly slow and usually goes straight to 4G, causing me to waste data. But what I don't understand is how my connection for both my laptop and iPhone are so slow, while my roommates' connections are absolutely fine. They are both able to watch Netflix and Youtube in good quality with no buffering. I compared my iPhone with my roommate's, whose iPhone is the same generation as mine and an update behind, and his phone had a good connection and didn't disconnect to 4G. I'm pretty sure the problem isn't that they aren't taking up bandwidth because my slow connection persists while I'm alone in the room.

Have you tried to use your mobile or laptop in their rooms? Maybe it's something interference in your room

Just thought I'd share since my Wi-Fi problems made me so miserable for so many… Slowing down to painfully slow speeds or just not connecting at all… Now, both the laptop and phone connect to Wi-Fi, sporadically drop… My iPhone have no problem connecting through the router via Wi-Fi to the internet.
