Why is that being mugged differs from theft?

I thought being mugged is about stealing from other individuals like their cell phone, iPhone, purse ect

Mugging involves an act of violence.

Mugging usually involves violence and theft is usually just taking and running off with it.

Theft you don't usually end up needing medical attention whereas with a mugging you usually end up injured because the punk has to commit assault and battery as well as take your stuff even if you cooperate they in their tiny so-called minds think that they have to beat you up or cause you injury.

"Mugging" is classified as Strong Arm Robbery, unless a weapon is used, then it is just Armed Robbery. Mugging is a generic term for either when it happens on the street.

  • Will a petty theft affect the job i already have? My friend and I stole from Wal-mart. I stole an Iphone case and he stole Gatorade and candy. We're both employed. Will this affect the jobs that we already have? I'm 16 and he is 17.
  • Which grand theft auto should I get on my iphone? Any recommendations for which gta to choose? They are expensive and I don't want to make the wrong choice. I'm running the current ios on an iPhone 5 if that helps
  • Recording quality in Audacity differs with different headsets? First of all, I'm not using a mic. When I use the earphones that comes with iPhones, the quality of the recording is really clear when I play it. But then when I use a Skullcandy headset, the recording sounds muffled. What gives? When I listen to the recordings I recorded with the iPhone earphones with the Skullcandy headset, they sound clear. It has to do with the recording because one recording sounds the same with either earphones. If it's clear, it's clear for both.
  • How to insure my belongings in the event of theft internationally? I've taken a look at some traveler's insurance, but none of the policies seem to do exactly what I want. I have been robbed multiple times while abroad and obviously it's always a pretty big financial burden. I'm going to be in Mexico City in a few weeks and will be staying in a pretty cheap hotel with a laptop, iPad, iPhone, passport etc. Is there any way to financially protect myself in case any of that gets stolen?
