Why does it cost that? Because someone thinks there are enough people prepared to pay the price.
Why is it worth that? It isn't!
So that Apple executives can keep driving their big expensive cars.
Why not price it there? People are going to buy it! If people are silly enough to pay double the price of a good quality PC for a phone, then we can't stop them.
Mostly because of all the tech they put into it.
