Why is there a glowing red light in my iPhone 5's front camera?
I never noticed it before but last night I was texting and I saw my front camera glowing red and its freaking me out! My boyfriend has the iPhone 5 too and his doesn't have that and I tried to look it up but there's nothing what do you guys think it could be? It glows pretty bright and blinks sometimes.

I'm guessing that is the proximity sensor which is supposed to be on when you make a call. This is either a software bug or a problem with the phone itself. I suggest you try wiping and restoring your phone. If this does not work, then take it to an Apple Store to get it repaired or replaced.

Same mine does this but it is not working, very glitchy, so I'm taking it to the Apple Store as I've already wiped it and it doesn't work.

I'm not sure. I have an IPhone SE and every once in awhile it glows this red color. It's not bright, it's dim. It's creepy…

Hey well it's either the proximity sensor or there's moisture in your phone and it's wet.
It's either a f***ing Hacker or the government.
My phone only shines when I'm using it. Not when it's off/ sleeping. Maybe it's a hacker or something. Going to the APPLE store to see if they can help if they can't gonna ask for a refund. Wiping I may not help but try it. I'm really scared and if there's a hacker gonna get Apple to refund phone since this shouldn't happen.
