Why is Toyota's Lexus LF-A so expensive? I mean the IS-F is almost like M3 but LF-A is OUTRAGEOUS?

Well…

there are cars cheaper than LF-A which can outperform it and… I djust don't understand the point of that car

Yes the LF-A is overpriced… But there's a reason for that. BTW M3 is not in the LF-A's league.

The IS-F Toyota build with no help from F1, they just threw the 5.0L V8 and tuned up their suspensions, remodified the body, took and upgraded the transmission, added paddle shifters (why because a 6-speed manual is slower than paddle shifters, because you don't have to worry about the clutch, clutch slows down) and threw in the fake exhaust.

1st its very light…

toyota never builds car using carbon fiber and other light materials. The Germans have been using carbon ceramic brakes, carbon fiber body, spoilers for decades, in the beginning for them it was expensive, but they eventually started lowering prices down… Its just like the iphone, if you remember when the first iphone came out, it was almost $500. Look at it now. My point is that Toyota has never used parts like these before, this is their first time. Infiniti is considering an M5 fighter and so is Toyota for their Lexus's GS model, watch as how expensive they'll be. If Japanese cars continue to do this, eventually they'll lower prices down as well…

2nd Toyota took 10 years to make this car…

they began with aluminum body but they they thought it was too heavy and started all over again.

3rd the engine 4.8L V10 was made from toyota…

yes the high revving engine is smaller than the S85 V10 from BMW M5, toyota claims thats a very lively engine thats why they had to make a different computerized dashboard… I think in my opinion that is one of the best engines ever made.

4th they got the ideas from F1 about how a race car should feel like but never asked for their help.

when BMW makes their M3 and M5 they do the same thing but build it by themselves… M3 is considered one of the best sports car ever made, especially the E46 BMW M3.

I will admit that Toyota should've threw in twin turbo or even a supercharger for it to be very fast in straight line, Its fast but not that fast. I mean a Nissan GTR can barely keep up even with V6 twin turbo. The LF-A however is more lively than the GT-R

Despite all that I think Toyota was only aiming it to be a track car, all reviewers complain that it rides too hard, it has no variable shocks… I mean if I own that car I could hardly care less, all sports car rides too hard… They're never designed for comfort.

Bad thing for Toyota is that they won't be making any money even if that car has such a high price. It was to show what could be done. I remember it from Top Gear UK years ago when it was first introduced. Jeremy Clarkson,. Who is very critical of cars, said it was the best car he has ever driven. That says a lot considering he's driven darn near everything on the road. The development of it was over a decade, and there's not a car that can hit 9K rpms from 0 as fast. I agree that it is expensive, but it cost so much to make that Toyota lost money on ever LFA they sold. Imagine each car was $400K, but each costed $600K to build. The engine is a technological marvel and let's not forget Lexus build quality… Already known through out the world as being second to none. It was a "halo" car. And, they lost $$$ on each sale… Goodies lexus built the lfa to prove that they could build a supercar and practise it. They lost money with every sale of the lfa because they did not plan to make money of it.

Goodies

Lexus built the lfa to prove that they could build a supercar and practise it. They lost money with every sale of the lfa because they did not plan to make money of it.
