Why is whatsapp a paid app for iphone whereas for android it's free?

Why is whatsapp a paid app for iphone whereas for android it's free?

Just another reason to choose Android over Apple.

Because it is assumed that if you own an expensive iPhone, you can definitely pay a dollar for using a top app.
Apart from this, Android users don't like spending too much on 3rd party apps…

IOS - WhatsApp is $0.99 for the app but then free to use for life
Android - WhatsApp is free for the app but then $0.99/year for life

*The iOS version is going to adopt the same system as the Android version before the end of the year. However it would only apply to new customers, so if it is you have an iPhone you should buy the app now for 1.99c purchase instead of having to pay.99c/year for life.

  • Whatsapp: Switching from iPhone to Android. Do I lose service? I've purchased Whatsapp on iPhone. I've got a lifetime service now. If I switch to Android, will I have to purchase Whatsapp again from the Google Play store? Thanks Going from iPhone 4s to galaxy note 3
  • Whatsapp on iPhone and Android? Why does whatsapp give the option to turn off last seen timestamp for iPhone but not on Android? How is this not unfair? Are there some sort of agreement between the two? There are ways to avoid people seeing your last seen into Android but you have to go through a bit of hassle.
  • Whatsapp chats from iPhone to Android Galaxy S4? Hi, I want to transfer the chats I had in my iPhone 4S (jailbreaked) to my Samsung Galaxy S4. I have the chats file from the iPhone (ChatStorage.sqlite) but the Android files are named different, it says msgstore.db.crypt in the Database folder on my Galaxy. Is there a way to convert the.sqlite to an Android compatible file?
  • What's the best paid-to-free iPhone app? Wondering if they actually work and really are previous paid apps also?' I currently have AppGratis.
